HEY~IT IS FRIDAY!!! Had a great day yesterday. Lunch with Linda C. which is always fun and sometimes informing...LOL All that school gossip...
Then dinner with the Washington group. We ate at the Warehouse and it was very good.I had the best prime rib and b. tato for just $10.
Came home and of course could not sleep so read my Kindle until the wee hours. Love it!
Pat has been working in his workshop and is replacing lights. He said he may have to make a run to Z'ville tomorrow to get bulbs so maybe I will tag along. Supposed to get colder this weekend. At least no snow in the forecast. :)
All my friends have a GREAT weekend!

OMG! Thia Kindle is awesome! I have downloaded my first book. "Twilight" I figure I can read a series so that will keep me under control. LOL It is so easy to get the books with one click. Being from a small town where Wally World or a drug store is the only place to get the latest book, it is a Godsend. But can also be hazardous if you know what I mean. I fear I am going to turn into my mother after all with my nose in a book all the time....not a bad thing.
Supposed to be a beautiful day in the 60's but rain is learking. Having lunch with Linda C. today and then Washington staff dinner tonight at the Warehouse. They are under new management so we are looking forward to trying it out. Will be good to see everyone and catch up.
Hoping Jeremy and Mandi hear soon about their apartment. Waiting for paper work etc. Mandi is busy this week with spelling bee and Jeremy is working. They did finally get the box I sent them with the spice cake mix in it. Can you believe they can't find it in Florida!
Happy Day to everyone! Enjoy the warm weather in Ohio!

Isn't that the truth! Yesterday Pat and I got up early and went to Keim Lumber. The place is HUGE! Had breakfast and Pat bought some tools. Then we checked out the entry way doors. Would like to get new front door and change the back door as well while we are at it.Haven't done much else this weekend.

Jeremy and Mandi have found an apartment that they both like very much. Closer to both their work sites and just what they were looking for. Now they are waiting for paperwork and approval. Here's hoping things work out and they get it.

I had a great day yesterday even though it was sooooo cold. Wind chills in the single numbers. I had a wonderful massage from Wendy which is always relaxing. Then lunch at Thomas' (steak salads) with Linda C. It is always great to catch up and realize I am glad I retired...LOL.

Last night I went to Beth 's first Gold Canyon candle party at Jacie's house. It was fun. I bought a couple of the new "pods" to make the house smell good. Yummo, gotta love those candles. While at Jacie's I realized that our dogs are little compared to her Hooch. He is lover but is HUGE! But then I guess all great danes are. :)Thanks for the fun Beth and Jacie!

Need to do some grocery shopping but not looking forward to going out into the cold.....Pat is planning a trip to Keim tomorrow so will get to try out their new restaurant for breakfast..yeah! Supposed to snow 1-4 inches though so hope we get to go.

Stay warm friends!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Pat and I went to Mt. Vernon today to get our new gas stove. With the cost of wood pellets and the coming of the gas line to our area, this was a much cheaper way to heat. It is black enamel and is just beautiful....got a good deal on it as well which never hurts. LOL. We will use the pellet stove until the gas etc. is all set up this spring. Then hopefully sell the pellet stove and be ready for next winter with the new stove.

Had some snow this morning but nothing of any account. Didn't stick anywhere. Seemed to have more up north when we were getting the stove.

Nascar racing has begun it's season so Pat is very happy. He loves to watch his races!

Brody will be one on Tuesday. Have to plan a little celebration for the little guy...LOL

I am so happy. Got my blood work results back and everything was in the normal range! My cholesterol has not been below 250 for years. Even on different medications we could not get it down. I began taking Crestor last spring and this time my level was....drum roll......188! Needless to say, dr and I are both pleased as punch. All other levels esp. liver and kidney which can be affected by Crestor were in normal ranges..woohoo! Now for my whine....those of you who work for CCS know that when we get out blood work done, if all is normal, you get a big smiley face on your test results. Well, I have NEVER gotten that smiley face and had I been still employed with the schools, this time I would have gotten that dang smiley face!!! Oh well...........

Waiting on the stormy weather to coming our way. Has been windy most of the day and tornado warnings are out in our area. Guess we won't be using the grill tonight even though it is still 50's out. Supposed to drop into the 30's overnight...yuk!

Stopped off at the Supt. office today to pick up my severence check...boy does U. Sam take out a lot! I also received a lovely wooden music box from Warther's that was engraved with CCS, my name and years of service. This was the retirement gift from the district. Very nice~

Another warm day today! Had a lovely lunch with Linda Clark. She has moved into an apartment with Rachel. Rachel will stay there when the weather is too bad for her to drive to Columbus so both of them are happy.

Jeremy called tonight with news that he has been promoted to inside sales at the country club.He will miss the tips from outside but will be able to teach and will have other benefits. Almost ready to take level 3 test so things look good. He and Mandi are looking forward to finding their own apartment next month.

Pat is still not feeling that well but better than over the weekend. Finally gave in and is taking some cold/cough meds.

It's official! Patty and I will be receiving Kindle 2's when we get them. All those who have not received their orders from before Christmas were informed today that they will be upgraded to the new version....sweet! Should be here at the end of the month.

February 9, 2009

Well, we had a warm weekend. Unfortunately Pat was sick. He has the flu bug as do many of his co-workers. I just hope I don't get it!

I am sitting here watching Brody watch the animal planet. He loves it. Especially since there is a jack russell on the Victoria Stillwell show today. Hummm,. maybe he will learn something. It just amazes me the way he sits and watches.

I am posting Brody's first birthday/Valentines day pics today. He will be one on the 17th. Seems like we just got him.

News on the Kindle. I guess the K2 is to be released tomorrow so now the BIG question is will those who ordered and have not received yet get the K1 or K2??? Some thing we will get an email asking which we want since they cost the same. Others thing we will get what we ordered. I really don't care just get it to me!! It's been a long wait...since before Christmas.

Hoping the weather stays nice for a few more days. Enjoy !

First day of February!

Just thought I would add a little football humor for my son...how about that one Jeremy? LOL He told me that today at a local watering hole they will have all you can eat crab legs for $25. They have no idea what they are in for.....the boy can eat his weight in crab legs....believe me I have seen it!!! Enjoy them Jeremy.
I think he has realized after a fender bender the other day how precious life is as is
our time with each other. Luckily no one was hurt...... just his car. We all need to treasure everyday we have and let those we love know they are loved through thought and deed.
It is supposed to be warmer..40's today woohoo....so Pat and I will be out later trying to clear some of the ice from the deck and driveway.
Brody just cracks me up with his love of the snow. He just runs and leaps around the yard like a little deer. Ali of course is not so thrilled. I am hoping he is learning to be off lead but when there is a cat in the yard all bets are off. I should say he is off .....after the cat!
I learned to use my cricut machine and am in seventh heaven. I have had the machine for nearly a year and at $200 that is wasted time. But I was not in any hurry to set it all up etc. should say just too lazy. Well, I found info on u tube with videos on how to set it all up and get started. It took some time because of updates needed etc. but wow! Now I am watching u tube videos on things to create with it. Oh, how I wish I had had it when I was teaching in a classroom years ago! Rachel Bentz was the one who encouraged me to get the machine and I thank her for that advice. Now, I know some of you have no idea what this machine does so google it and see. Basically it will cut out letters of any size and font you type in. Too cool.
That is about it for today. Laundry to do and watching the game later. May the best team win!
