May 23, 2009 Memorial Day Weekend

Pat and I took Brody to the OHPA 2009 Jack show in Lancaster. We don't show Brody but we wanted to visit with Diane Wright his breeder. She had not seen him in person since we got him over a year ago. She was very pleased with how he looked except he needs to lose about 5 pounds. She also showed us how to strip his winter coat off. He is a smooth coated terrier just like his mother. Diane had 9 dogs with her including Brody's mom. He looks just like her only bigger~he is larger than most of Diane's dogs(14 and 3/4 inches) but she said he would have made a wonderful stud dog.....too late now. Many of Diane's dogs or pups from her dogs were represented and did very well during the show on Saturday. As you can tell from the picture (my hair!!!)it was VERY HOT out 88 degrees. We were there until about 3 and then called it a day. Brody was pretty excited since it was his first time out around so many other dogs.

It was also graduation weekend for the local high schools. Not too many former Washington students at graduation~a few. I think with the economy many families have moved. We had a thunderstorm in Warsaw yesterday afternoon so I imagine River View had their ceremony inside. Seems like just yesterday Jeremy graduated....it was 1993!!!

Each year Patty participates in the Komen Race for the Cure in Columbus. This year she was the #1 fundraiser! CONGRATULATIONS PATTY!!! We are all so proud of you.

5/7/9 ODD DAY!!!

As Odd as it is, the day will be fine,
You see, it's the numbers 5,7, and 9.
Three odds in a row to tell you the date,
We've only three more, then a 90-year wait.

So it is odd day....I, along with many friends will appreciate this day as we have all been thought of as "a little odd" from time to time...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! Yep, that means you.....!:)
Beautiful day here in Ohio. Dogs and I are enjoying the weather on the deck. They love the outside.
If you have a hankerin' to be odd...this is the day to ~just do it! Have a good one!

May 4, 2009

Took a new pic of Brody the other day to make into a mother's day card to send to Diane his breeder. She loves to get updates on her former babies. He is such a ham when the camera comes out.
Workers are putting on a new door to Pat's workshop today and are enlarging the building where he puts the tractor. Since he got the bigger tractor, the doorway was too narrow for it to fit.
Just got back from Wally World for the grocery run. Spent lots of $$$ but didn't seem to have much to show for it.:( I actually got a pair of garden gloves to pull weeds with. LOL!! I know if Pat is reading this he is laughing...me ! pull weeds! outside! LOL Well maybe since it is not too hot out today I will just surprise him. Got a new humming bird feeder and food for Pat to hang up. THAT should drive Brody nuts for sure. He tries to catch everything that moves when he is outside.
The hostas we took from Washington are up and growing beautifully. Is nice to see alittle of the old building decor in our yard. Memories......the best school years ever!
Everyone enjoy the week. Those at school, I am sure you are counting down the days. :)

Ok, if I were one of these cats, I would be the little one in the back with the blank face....like, how the heck did I get HERE??? I am NOT a "ride" person just ask my husband or son. LOL
Had a wonderful massage today after a month without one and then a lovely lunch with Patty at the English Ivy. It was so nice to catch up. Took some mother's day and graduation things to S. Lawn. All seems well there but I didn't get to visit as I had to get to my appointment.
Retirement is good for me I guess. Yesterday at my 6 mo. dr. appt. she was very pleased with my blood test numbers and my blood pressure was 120/66. WOW!!!
Pat was home today on his first Friday off with his 4 day work weeks. He is working in his workshop on projects. He enjoys tinkering out there so that is good.
Rained off and on all day and supposed to do the same for the next few days. Tomorrow the candy bars will be delivered to Linda. Pat and I are meeting her and Jim at the Dutch Valley restaurant for breakfast to make the exchange. Tomorrow night is the retirement get together for Roger and Carol Moore. Bet they are looking forward to retirement and the new grandbaby.
Everyone have a GREAT weekend!
