A Mother's Touch
There is nothing greater than a mother's touch
There is no one else who can love me this much
She held my hand and I learned to walk
She read me books and I learned to talk
She hugged me and taught me how to love
She forgave me and taught me the should of's
Even with the sleepless nights flying by
She would smile as she held me with tired eyes
And the skinned knees only her kiss would cure
With a gentle touch she wiped away the tear
Whenever I needed she would lend her shoulder
These are some things I appreciate since I got older
A friend, a counselor, a stern hand when I got out of line
Someone to chase the monsters out of that closet of mine
The lessons you have given me I'll keep forever
And remember your words through each endeavour
