January 29, 2009

Sooooo much snow and ice everywhere. Pat managed to plow most of the drive and I shoveled the deck best I could. Supposed to be just cold, then a few more flakes this weekend before another storm first of next week. GREAT! At least, so far, we have not lost electric...yeah for Frontier Power!
I worry about Pat driving in this yuk but he takes the truck and has 4 wheel drive. Me? I just stay home....no way I am going out in this!
Missing the warmth of the sun though...lucky Jeremy and Mandi in Florida! Miss you guys!

Wanted to add these pictures of additional craft items.

January 28, 2009

Ok more like ice today but maybe snow coming later on. Linda and I made it to Z'ville to get hair done last night and back before it got too bad. What am I saying...I did 35-40 mph the whole way home!

This morning it is all sleet. Many power outages in parts of the state. I hope we don't lose power! The weather out of Columbus says we will be getting snow from now on. I shoveled off the deck to get the slushy stuff off before it freezes. About 4 inches to arrive soon....ugh!

Been doing some new crafting. Have most of my Valentine Day things ready to display and some Easter/mother's day. I am very curious about the word books so I got the necessary materials to try this new project. Wish me luck! Maybe you will be a lucky one to get one of my creations...lol

Update at 10:15....man! It is snowing like mad now. Weather man was correct. Big flakes coming down and covering fast. Now they are saying 9 inches and won't be finished until tonight....so goes winter in Ohio on this day.

January 24, 2009

Pat and I went to Zanesville to day and saw Grand Toreno. If you are a Clint Eastwood fan, you will like it. It is not the typical action flick but still a good movie. After the movie we shopped at Sams and while we were there we met the Snyders and visited with them for a few minutes. They had Courtney with them and she is such a cutie!(esp. in her little pink Robbee boots) Then we had dinner at the BBQ on old 60. One of the guys at Johnson's said it was good so we thougth we would try it. Had ribs and chicken. It was great!

Got a few pieces of Easter paper so came home and finished Post It holders for Valentine's Day and started some for Easter. Hope to get all Valentine's Day things to South Lawn this week.
Nothing else planned for the weekend so probably will stay in and try to stay warm as it is supposed to get colder again...ugh!

January 20,2009 A New President Today

I have watched the TV most of yesterday seeing the events leading up to today's inauguration ceremony. It is about 5 outside here today so it is a good day to stay inside and watch history in the making. The dogs are all snuggled up on the bed with me and life is good.

January 15, 2009

It is definitely cold outside! I have only been out to take the dogs out and that has been enough. Washington group was to have dinner together tonight but we are postponing until next week when it is supposed to be warmer.....in the 30's LOL.

I did get a nice pic of the kids on the deck yesterday. We have about 7 inches of snow on the ground. Tonight they are calling for wind and bitter cold....great! Gotta love Ohio in January.

Jeremy reports it is cold in Florida....down in the 40's ...OH MY! Like that is cold...ha ha!

January 12, 2009

It is supposed to be very cold this week here in Ohio so it will be a good week to craft. I have moved my supplies to my son's old bedroom so my "mess" is no longer in the family room.

I have added a few pictures of my Valentine's Day crafts so far.

The first two are Ghiradelli chocolate holders, 4 patterns for cups which will have either kisses or peanut butter cups in them, chocolate bar cover and finally kitkat covers(showing front and back).

January 5, 2009 GO BUCKS!!!

Ok, today is the day of the big game with Texas. Jeremy has shaved his head and is painting it like a helmet for the game....is he a diehard fan or what?

Had a wonderful dinner Saturday night with Jim and Linda. She is busy with school and making future plans. Their kitchen is almost finished but this can't happen fast enough for Linda.

Mert comes in Tuesday for a week. Will be good to see her. I am sure she will be glad to be home for awhile since Florida is boring to her.

Today I am having lunch with Miss Patty and maybe Becky too. At least in retirement I am getting to go out to lunch weekly with someone to catch up on the world outside our house.

Wishing the Buckeyes the best ~just want a good game not a blow out.

Here's an update : Look above at what my darlin' son did to his hair/head......Jeremy you have lost your mind! Hope you and Mandi enjoy the game. Have fun!

Saturday, January 3, 2009

Hum, seems funny writing 2009. Glad I am not working because I am sure I would screw up dates on things still writing 2008. LOL I went to Newark yesterday and got some new crafting supplies. I hope to have some pictures of my latest projects on here soon. Mostly Valentine's Day things.

Pat and I are going to New Philly tonight to the Pro's Table for dinner with Jim and Linda (Martin) Murray. Been a while since we have had dinner together so it should be a fun time. Good food+good company always equals good time.

Jeremy reports the golf season has officially begun...they have 300 people scheduled each day for the next 3 days. Glad he is busy. Mandi goes back to school on Monday. Brother John got a good report from the Dr. and goes back to work on Monday.

Later!
