May 23, 2009 Memorial Day Weekend

Pat and I took Brody to the OHPA 2009 Jack show in Lancaster. We don't show Brody but we wanted to visit with Diane Wright his breeder. She had not seen him in person since we got him over a year ago. She was very pleased with how he looked except he needs to lose about 5 pounds. She also showed us how to strip his winter coat off. He is a smooth coated terrier just like his mother. Diane had 9 dogs with her including Brody's mom. He looks just like her only bigger~he is larger than most of Diane's dogs(14 and 3/4 inches) but she said he would have made a wonderful stud dog.....too late now. Many of Diane's dogs or pups from her dogs were represented and did very well during the show on Saturday. As you can tell from the picture (my hair!!!)it was VERY HOT out 88 degrees. We were there until about 3 and then called it a day. Brody was pretty excited since it was his first time out around so many other dogs.

It was also graduation weekend for the local high schools. Not too many former Washington students at graduation~a few. I think with the economy many families have moved. We had a thunderstorm in Warsaw yesterday afternoon so I imagine River View had their ceremony inside. Seems like just yesterday Jeremy graduated....it was 1993!!!

5/7/9 ODD DAY!!!

As Odd as it is, the day will be fine,
You see, it's the numbers 5,7, and 9.
Three odds in a row to tell you the date,
We've only three more, then a 90-year wait.

So it is odd day....I, along with many friends will appreciate this day as we have all been thought of as "a little odd" from time to time...YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! Yep, that means you.....!:)
Beautiful day here in Ohio. Dogs and I are enjoying the weather on the deck. They love the outside.
If you have a hankerin' to be odd...this is the day to ~just do it! Have a good one!

I hope you will check it out. Not much on there now but it is a start.
I want to send out congratulations to Patty Cramer on being in the lead for the cancer fundraiser~WAY TO GO PATTY!!!
Happy Hump Day!

Took a new pic of Brody the other day to make into a mother's day card to send to Diane his breeder. She loves to get updates on her former babies. He is such a ham when the camera comes out.
Workers are putting on a new door to Pat's workshop today and are enlarging the building where he puts the tractor. Since he got the bigger tractor, the doorway was too narrow for it to fit.
Just got back from Wally World for the grocery run. Spent lots of $$$ but didn't seem to have much to show for it.:( I actually got a pair of garden gloves to pull weeds with. LOL!! I know if Pat is reading this he is laughing...me ! pull weeds! outside! LOL Well maybe since it is not too hot out today I will just surprise him. Got a new humming bird feeder and food for Pat to hang up. THAT should drive Brody nuts for sure. He tries to catch everything that moves when he is outside.
The hostas we took from Washington are up and growing beautifully. Is nice to see alittle of the old building decor in our yard. Memories......the best school years ever!
Everyone enjoy the week. Those at school, I am sure you are counting down the days. :)

Ok, if I were one of these cats, I would be the little one in the back with the blank face....like, how the heck did I get HERE??? I am NOT a "ride" person just ask my husband or son. LOL
Had a wonderful massage today after a month without one and then a lovely lunch with Patty at the English Ivy. It was so nice to catch up. Took some mother's day and graduation things to S. Lawn. All seems well there but I didn't get to visit as I had to get to my appointment.
Retirement is good for me I guess. Yesterday at my 6 mo. dr. appt. she was very pleased with my blood test numbers and my blood pressure was 120/66. WOW!!!
Pat was home today on his first Friday off with his 4 day work weeks. He is working in his workshop on projects. He enjoys tinkering out there so that is good.
Rained off and on all day and supposed to do the same for the next few days. Tomorrow the candy bars will be delivered to Linda. Pat and I are meeting her and Jim at the Dutch Valley restaurant for breakfast to make the exchange. Tomorrow night is the retirement get together for Roger and Carol Moore. Bet they are looking forward to retirement and the new grandbaby.
Everyone have a GREAT weekend!

Well good news and bad news. Good news~ Guess who is going to be a grandma again in December???? LINDA CLARK!!Yep, she told me tonight on our way to get our hair done in Zanesville. Kelly and Jarrod are thrilled as is grandma!
Bad news~Pat said they are so slow at work that his mom is working only three days a week and he and Delynn are only working 4 days a week. Sooo, he will be home on Fridays for awhile until things pick up.
All candybars are ready for delivery but I have not been able to contact Linda. I am sure she is very busy with their levy next week.
Have all my mother's day things ready to deliver to S.Lawnn on Friday. Then a massage and lunch with Patty.

YIPEE! All 550 candy bars are wrapped and ready to go into clear envelopes and then delivered. Record time....3 days and I only worked off and on. My hands ache but that is to be expected. I hope that Linda and the crew at Green will like them.
Managed to also make some fresh green beans for dinner tonight. They are Pat's favorite. They were very good. Onions, bacon and potatoes added...yummo!
Tonight is 24 night so glad I am finished with the candy bars. LOL
Have to finish a little project for Roger and Carol Moore's retirement party on Sat. At least it does not involve candy bars.

April 24 , 2009

Chocolate! Chocolate! I have 16 boxes of Hershey bars on my kitchen table ....that is 550 bars!!! I got the wrappers from Staples printing and they are wonderful. Look very nice. I like the weight for wrappers. I could never have copied that many in such short time and so perfectly. I can't imagine all the cartridges I would have used.....
Well while I was waiting for the printing to be finished, I went to Sams for the candy. When I came out...I HAD A FLAT TIRE! AND I had Pat's car. I thought he was going to have to come to Z'ville and change it for me and then I thought...duh, Sam's has a tire shop and they fixed it for me and even better....since I am a member.....it was FREE!!! Oh, happy day. Had to wait almost 2 hours to get all this fixed but it was worth it for free.
Came home and we grilled out. Pat had finished mowing so he was hungry. I started my project and am nearly finished with the first box of 36 bars. My self made deadline is next weekend. Envelops should arrive Wed. so I can complete the project then and deliver them to Linda over the weekend. At least that is my plan.
Enjoy the weekend. Sunny and warm~YEAH!!!

April 23, 2009

Ah, the rain has stopped....finally. It is supposed to be in the 80's the rest of the weekend and Monday. WOO HOO! I am finishing up my mother's day craft things AND........drum roll......I got a HUGE order for candy bars ~ 500 of them~for Green Local Schools. My friend Linda called and they want them for staff appreciation. I used their logo and created a pretty nice wrapper. Should be fun trying to get 500 of them finished in a week....phewwwww. I will have to hustle.
Diane, Brody's breeder has her first spring litter of pups. They are really cute...3 girls and 1 boy and they all appear to be tricolored like their dad.
Pat has gotten a few new tools for his workshop. He is really making progress in sprucing up his work area.
Nothing new from Jeremy and Mandi. Guess no news is good news.
Planning on going to Wal Mart and Zanesville tomorrow. Groceries and stuff for the "big order".

April 20, 2009

UPDATE:
I went to lunch with Linda today and while I was waiting I saw Beth. It's a GIRL!! WHOOHOOO!!! She will so enjoy shopping for girl things....Now if Jacie gets on it and has a boy next they will both have one of each. Happy Happy Families!

Beth Loomis is finding out today what she will be having in Sept. Girl or Boy??? She has bet her dh that it is another boy since all the little gimicks to figure it out that she and Jacie have done indicate another boy. I know Beth would love a little girl but either way this little one will be spoiled just like Parker compliments of Granny....lol.
Jeremy called and he and Mandi had a big surprise last night. Mandi's mom showed up with her sister for a visit. Neither of them knew they were coming. I told Jeremy that I just might have to hop a plane and make a surprise visit also.
Raining here again today. This will really green things up. Grass is growing like crazy. Pat has already mowed twice. Dogs don't like the rain either. No sunning on the deck :(.
New phones are coming along. I have found some great utubes that demo some of the options. Also read lots on line and have actually figured some things out on my own. Once I get the hang of it, I am sure I will like it.
Have a great day~quack, quack.

April 17, 2009

Happy day! Mert and Bill are back in Ohio. I picked them up at the Akron Canton airport yesterday afternoon. I was soooo ready to jump on a plane and fly to Florida to see J and Mandi. I miss them a lot! I doubt that J will get home this summer so I guess I will see him this fall if Pat can go down for Thanksgiving.
After we got home and we visited for awhile, Pat and I went to The Lock for dinner. It was VERY good. I was totally full! Pat is taking 1/2 day off today to go to Kiem lumber for their sale. I was supposed to have a massage today but Wendy had to cancel. So I sat in the massage chair last night..not the same but helped.
The sun is shinning and I am pretty sure the dogs will be enjoying the deck later today.

April 14, 2009

Ok, I have had enough rain! All day long yesterday and again today.....enough!!
Linda and I had a good time yesterday in Zanesville. We had lunch and then shopped a little. Didn't stay too long since Linda had a dr. appt.
Spent today cleaning "the room" ~hey you can actually see the floor now! LOL Worked on my boat swap craft challenge. My theme was winter which is right up my ally since I love things sparkling and shiny. I am also to do Thanksgiving so that one may be a bit of a challenge but I am workin on it.
Can you believe there was so much trash from my cleaning that the bags would not all fit in the two huge trash barrels. I guess it needed done huh?
Changed the bedding and am almost finished with the weeks laundry. Been a busy day! Hope all who had to go back to school today had a good day. I remember well how restless the kids get when its raining and they have to stay inside...especially coming off a long weekend.

So many children, and adults, must feel like this after eating all that Easter candy and goodies....LOL. We had a very quiet Easter here at our house. Plan to spend today with Linda C. shopping and having lunch. Should be a fun day.

April 10, 2009

Had a wonderful day today! Patty, Becky and Linda M. and I all had lunch at Roscoe. We talked for almost 4 hours! Much to catch up on...lol. Patty had an interesting lunch which got returned for a cheeseburger. PS. don't order the pork sandwich with bean soup and coleslaw...eeewwwwwwww. It was great to catch up.
Talked to Linda C. this afternoon. She has had an interesting couple of days....nough said on that one. We are going to lunch on Monday and shopping since she has the day off.
Rained most of the day here and supposed to rain again tomorrow. Yuk!
Have not heard much from Jeremy and Mandi...since she is off I suppose they are busy with the apartment and spending time together. Mert and Bill return to Ohio on Thurs.

Thursday, April 09, 2009

Well it was supposed to be warmer yesterday, overnight and today. It made it into the 50's yesterday but this morning it is 29...burrrr. Supposed to get to 60 today so we shall see.
I have to get my left over craft items from S.Lawn today. Then drop some bags of clothing off at Goodwill. I cleaned out my closet yesterday getting all my old school clothes out of there. I figure I won't use them ever again so why hang on to them. If for some reason I go back to work, I will get new. :) I think I have 3 large bags...yikes.
Need to clean out my car this weekend. Picking up Mert and Bill from the airport on Thurs. Finally they will be home from Florida. Bill insisted on going down before Thanksgiving and now can't wait to get home. I think he missed us...LOL. As I have said before, he wants to learn to use a computer and wants me to teach him. THAT should be interesting....
Enjoy the day and those who are teachers, this is your last day before break!!

Well today was beautiful here in Warsaw. Sun was shining but it was a little windy so it was a little cooler than I would like it. Pat worked on his cupboards and cleaning his workshop most of the day. I did laundry and made lunch.
Here are some pictures of his workshop project. Aren't these cabinets beautiful! Almost too nice to store tools in...LOL
Happy Weekend!
