This picture just cracked me up!
Spring has sprung in Ohio. Crazy weather here this past month in particular. One day snow and ice, the next can be in the 50's. This week is supposed to be 40-50 all week. Hope the flowers don't come up too soon. I'm pretty sure there will be more bad weather to come.

Hoping Jeremy and Mandi hear good news this week. They seriously want to move back up north to the Savannah/Hilton Head area. Just waiting on the right job to come about.

Pat got good news that he can get lasik surgery and not have to wear glasses which he has worn since 5th grade. Yay! So surgery is scheduled for the 17th.

Ok so winter has come again to Ohio. Friday was a late start for CCS but all the rest of the districts were closed. Had a massage at 10 and roads were ok by then. However, Washington gathering at Yucatan was cancelled since they were calling for ice and more snow late Friday nite. We did get the snow but not the ice :).

Pat and Jeremy learned how to call face to face on the ipads/iphones. It is great fun to talk and see the kids while we are talking. I think the boys like their ipads!! Tonight I was playing words with friends with Jacie Wright and up popped Jeremy to talk. GREAT fun!

Pat and I stayed home all day today. He plowed earlier and the dogs had fun running in the snow off and on today. Tomorrow we will probably do the same. Gonna watch some football too.

Worked last Thurs. and Friday. Friday was an all day inservice for OTES in Zanesville. Good information. Now I wish I had applied for the train the trainer program but apps closed Dec. 31.

Have to take Mike to the eye dr. tomorrow for his other laser surgery. Probably have to take him back on Tues for his follow up. At least Pat won't have to take the time off work to do it. Thurs. and Fri. I work again. Friday is inservice for all teachers. I will be with Grant on OTES session and then by myself with the TIF session. HOpe teachers ask some good questions! Seems they don't really care much about all the work a few are doing for their benefit.

Jeremy had his first day at TwinEagles today. Group of players arrived in a helicopter! Some people have WAY too much money! Hope it is a good gig for him.

It was a WONDERFUL Christmas!!! Jeremy and Mandi were home for a week. We had to share their company with the Hockenberrys and friends but we did get to see quite a bit of them. Mandi and I got our hair done on Thurs. "girl time" :)
Saturday we had Mike and John for dinner...prime rib yum! Joanie had to work so we sent a care package home for her. The weather was good while the kids were home so there wasn't any worry about them driving back and forth from Malvern. The iPads were a BIG hit and a surprise for everyone. Loved the things we got and gave to everyone but best of all was just having Jeremy and Mandi home!!
Tuesday night we went to Molly's for the McKenzie Christmas. Gavin and the Boose family were there too. It was a GREAT night! Lots of good food and family.
All too soon it was time to take the kids to Columbus for their flight back to Florida. They went to the OSU basketball game the night before and had little sleep before their 6AM flight. Sad to see them go back but have to think it is just so they can come home again soon.
Jeremy got an outside job at TwinEagles in Naples. He is very excited to start at a new club. FINALLY out of Triple C and on to better things.

Doing the happy happy dance!!! Jeremy is out of the hospital with a clean bill of health!!! He and Mandi will be on the plane tomorrow night bound for home. I can't wait.
Car is ready to be picked up. Guess it was water in the gas line??? Tanskey's said it started every time. We shall see.....
Finishing up the chex mix, cookies and caramel corn. One last sweep tomorrow with the sweeper and I'm ready. (I think...)

Oh My! What a differnce a week makes. Last Thursday, Jeremy wasn't feeling well and he had Mandi take him to the ER. He was coughing and not breathing well. While there they did a breathing treatment, xray, catscan,EKG and an echocardiogram plus numerous blood tests. They decided to admit him thinking he might have a bacteria in his blood from his dental surgery. UGH!!! Several days later of more test and shots and antibiotics he is hoping today (Monday) that he will be released to go home. The first blood culture which was positive was proven to be contanimated and the last two cultures have been negative (good) all tests came back showing nothing so heart and lungs are good.
Mandi has been a constant angel watching over him and keeping us posted on progress. What would we (he) do without her!!
In the meantime back in Ohio, Pat had a birthday on Friday.Happy Birthday Honey! We also got a new leather couch delivered on Friday. It is wonderful! Love it! I made Pat an Italian cream cake and it turned out pretty good.
We went to Bob Evans for breakfast yesterday and the CR-V won't start. Not needing a jump start...Pat thinks it might be the fuel pump. It's not even a year old yet!!! GGGGRRRRR!! So called Honda Care and they will come today and tow it to Zanesville for repair. Good thing is that it should be free but a pain to have to take the time to drive down there to pick it up.
Today is my sister's birthday! Happy Birthday Joanie!
Hoping Jeremy gets out today with a clean bill of health and that he and Mandi are on the plane home Wed.

Yep, I think winter is well on it's way to Ohio. In the teens this morning.
Pat and I went to Z'ville yesterday and got a new couch...leather! It is being delivered Friday-his birthday. Now to get rid of our old one....maybe one of the guys at work will want it???

Just a week and a few days and Jeremy and Mandi will be home! Been busy cleaning and decorating. This will be such a wonderful Christmas having them home.

All the presents are bought. Have a couple more still coming in the mail that should arrive this week. Next week is for baking...chex mix, carmel corn, cookies and Pat's birthday cake.

Tomorrow I go to Columbus for a TIF meeting...ugh! At least it won't be bad weather. Tuesday I will be taking Mike to the eye dr. He's having caterac surgery. Will work on Thursday since I have a meeting with Kathy aat 9AM. Probably all I will work until the first of the year. :)

Ok tried to upload a picture but it does not seem to be working???? Jeremy and Mandi are cooking up a storm for the orphans. They love doing this feast each year. VERY fond memories of two years ago when we were there for Thanksgiving and Jeremy proposed and Mandi said yes!! What a GREAT night it was (even though it was Black Friday lol) Mike and Pat are in charge of Thanksgiving dinner at the McKenzie house this year. Steak on the grill, baked potatoes, and salad....VERY non traditional dinner. Hey, they are cooking and minimal work on my part...who am I to complain. ;)Massage today and then off to Z'ville for a haircut. May do some shopping if it isn't storming. Supposed to rain most of the day today and some storms in the area. Wishing everyone a VERY Happy Thanksgiving!

So this is 11/11/11 and this date won't happen again for 100 years. None of us will be here then so ..... On this day I am thankful for my family. My brother who suffered a widow maker 3 yrs. ago and pulled through and doing GREAT today. My sister who has begun a new adventure in her life to become an RN. My son and daughter in law who have found eachother, love and happiness. And my husband who I don't know what I would be or do without his support and love.

Found out that Paula and Ronnie (Mandi's parents) had to put down their dog Ruca. So sad. It was time but still very sad for the family.
Jeremy went to the dentist! He needs to have 4-6 teeth removed so off to the oral surgeon next week. Doctor said he should feel much better after they are out.
Looking forward to the weekend relaxing with Pat and the dogs. Began to drag out some Christmas stuff. Had to go thru it to see what I have...lol.
Have some carpet cleaning to do first...thank you Miss Emma! May move some furniture too not sure yet.

Well it's not THAT bad but.... Pat and I got our new iPhones. They are really nice but different from the Blackberry so it is taking some time to learn. Got pictures on, some apps and trying to get my ringtones on. It will all come together soon. Pat really likes his!

Rained most of today. Went to Z'ville to have my oil changed for the first time since I got the car in March. Everything is A-OK. Then came back to town and worked the rest of the day. Met with Central staff after school to review the TIF plan with them. Susan is doing CHS tomorrow. I will do Lincoln and S. Lawn next Tues and Wed.

Monday Pat and I will take Mert and Bill to the airport in Canton to fly to Florida. Hate to see them go since Mert does not like being away from family expecially at the holidays.

Speaking of holidays, Molly is having the McKenzie Christmas this year. Hopefully Jeremy and Mandi will be able to join us. Will be nice to see Gavin and the Boose family.

Got GREAT news this week~~Jeremy and Mandi are comin home for Christmas!!! SO excited!! Got their plane tickets and we are all set. Even made Mandi a hair appt. with me. I guess I will decorate this year..lol.

Getting colder here..frosting soon. Most of the leaves are gone off the trees and the sky is gray most days. Took Linda C. to get some oral surgery done yesterday in Z'ville then worked 4 hours. Had a massage at 4 and then home to relax. Plan to work most of next week to get the TIF handbooks copied and handed out to all staff. Hopefully the iPads for staff come in so Patty and I can start formating them and get them working.

This month has been a bear! I have worked everyday on TIF materials. Sure is strange getting up everyday and the pups DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL!!! Of course they go to their kennels when we are at work. Go crazy when we get home. Good thing the weather is cooler so they can run to their hearts content when we let them out.
Got the professional photos from the wedding the other day. This is my absolute favorite! It will be on our family wall tomorrow!!

I got a beautiful album and finished loading all the pictures tonight. Beautiful! Jeremy and Mandi want one too so that will be part of their Christmas...lol. It was a wonderful day and the pictures are full of great memories!
Well two more days of working everyday then just a few days a week. When the snow flies it will be less than that lol.

So this was the first weekend for Ohio State Buckeye football. Needless to say the Latham family (including Nutty) was all decked out in their scarlet and gray gear.
I went to Dover for Linda's daughter's baby shower. It was very nice. Was home by one so saw the end of the game. Pat and I didn't do anything the rest of the evening. Thunderstorms in the night.
Today we grilled out for lunch. Need to go somewhere for a new tea maker. We have worn out the one we have. Wally was out of them so will probably go somewhere tomorrow to find one or later this week.
I am working everyday through the month of Sept. Then only two days a week or so from them on the rest of the year. Wed. the team goes to Columbus for an all day meeting...ugh. But it is part of the job so....
Rain due most everyday this week...another ugh.

Have spent the weekend watching hurricane Irene do her thing up the East coast. SOOOOO glad Jeremy and Mandi were not in the Carolinas. I do wish they would move there but not when there is such violent weather.

Bought three dozen ears of corn from Meizers (the best) and have blanched, cut and vacuum sealed all of it. Will be great when the snow flies and we want to eat a bit of sunshine.:) Need to find some peaches.....but all I have seen are pretty small. Apples will be coming into season soon so will freeze some for pies at the holidays. Love my new vacuum sealing machine!

Have several school meetings tomorrow. Have to check with Gary and ODE on this years budget and left over money that needs to be spent. Checking with Supt. on what to purchase if any leftover. Then a two hour transformation team meeting...first one of the school year so should be a full two hours or more :0

Pat is watching what he eats to lose some weight. Have lots of salad and "fixins" in the fridge. Found thin sliced chicken and strip steak at the store so we will grill that later this week to put on the salads. Yummo!

Next weekend is Tanner Murray's baby shower. It's a girl! Helping Linda with the decorations. It's a brunch at the little golf course Jim goes to for breakfast every Sat. I keep calling it a country club and Linda just laughs. It really isn't ....more like a club house/snack bar room...lol. Nothing much else planned for the long weekend. Pat's trying to find an edge trimmer (???) so we may go somewhere to look at them. Sure wish the kids lived closer so we could visit...:(((

What a wild and wonderful weekend it has been. Wish J and Mandi could have stayed longer but they both had to get back to Florida. I have never seen either of them more happy. Pat and I couldn't be more happy for them and are so glad to have a new daughter in law as part of our family.

We are down to the wire of sorts. Nine days and the big day will be here. Jeremy comes in on Tuesday...did I say I can't wait!!! Mandi will be coming down sometime Monday to spend the night. Then a wonderful massage for her with Miss Wendy before we go to Columbus to pick up J. Did I say I can't wait? !!

All wedding things are ready to go. The programs are left to be printed but first need final approval from Mandi and Jeremy. I will finish up the outside sign today hopefully at least tomorrow if it needs more time to dry.

Mandi has her bachelorette party at Put in Bay this weekend. Wish I could go but I hate to drive that long drive by myself. Besides I have a million things to do at home....like clean...ugh!

I never ever want to see another buckeye...ever! LOL jk. After making enough for 192 favors I am buckeyed out! May have to make a few more depending on how many more people RSVP to the wedding. Three weeks from today! I has been a long year and a half of planning but everything looks pretty good. I think Miss Mandi has everything she asked for.

Tomorrow Pat and I will have been married 29 years. Does not seem possible. I am the luckiest woman in the world to have found such a wonderful man who accepts me for who I am. I love you Pat! To celebrate, I am sure we will be watching the new True Blood on HBO. Yipee!!!

Have to clean up the craft room by Tues night. Mandi is coming to stay the night and then Wed. we are having a girls day at the beauty shop in Zanesville, late lunch and maybe some shopping.

Well yesterday was quite exciting. I found a dead chipmunk in the dog's pool~ I don't know if Emma killed it or was just playing with it. By the time I found it, the dogs were both out in the yard. Emma was wet though so I know she was in the pool at some point. So, I got a shovel and removed the poor creature, emptied out the pool and will scrub it later.

Had to go to Z'ville for a dr. appt. On the way home ran into a terrible thunderstorm. Luckily we had no hail. Rained very hard for some time then nothing but heat and humidity. More of the same the rest of the week.

All flowers are finished for the wedding except Paula and my corsages. Can't get the last couple of flowers I need to finish them. Been backordered for over a month! Mandi and Jeremy have been working on the write ups for the program so that will be the next project. Then the buckeyes for favors and we are done!

The Coshocton City Schools Teacher Incentive Grant is finished and has been turned it! WOO HOO!!! The team was GREAT to work with! So now we wait to see if it is approved or if modifications need to be made.

Still been working on wedding things. Waiting for a few more flowers to come into Hobby Lobby and then I can finish up the bouquets. Had a change in groomsmen as one of the fellows was unable to participate. But another one of J's friends has stepped up and will be taking his place. J and Mandi went tux shopping this past week and decisions have been made there as well. Have to get Pat to a Men's Warehouse for measurements sometime soon. Pretty much down to the favors and program left to do after the flowers.

Pat and I are going to Amish country today to look for some deck furniture. Hope we can find something that will do at a reasonable price. Then maybe a good lunch??? LOL

Just a couple of pictures from Mandi's shower today. It was great fun and she got so many nice gifts. Linderlou was able to come so I had fun catching up with her as well. Paula and her sisters outdid themselves with the food. Everything was delish!

The tasting at the country club went very well on Thurs. Paula and I agreed the food was better this time than when we tasted at the bridal fair a year ago..guess they have a new chef. Mandi approved of all the selections as well.

Mandi goes back to Fla tomorrow morning and will be back June 20th or so. Jeremy will come in July 12.

Will this rain every stop????? Temperatures have been mild in the 60s so that is a good thing. Had a quiet Easter with dinner at Mert and Bill's. Worked on the wedding bouquets on Sat. Sent a pic to Mandi and she liked it. Have to purchase more flowers but that was expected. Will wait until Hobby Lobby has them 1/2 price sale.
Meetings after school tonight and tomorrow night. Mandi arrives in Ohio on Wed. and Thurs. we meet at the country club to taste foods. Her Bridal shower is on Saturday and is sure to be fun.

Everything is possible.The impossible just takes longer....

Had an all day meeting in Columbus yesterday on the TIF project and OAC. Was a good group and we got a good start on our project. Still lots of work to do though.
Been working on the wedding invitations....225 of them! Have all the supplies in and the basic folder, ribbon and monogram are put together.
Mandi will be home in two weeks and then much will be decided. Plan on going to Dover for tasting on Thursday and then to see the outdoor decorations. Sure wish Jeremy was coming with her!!! I miss him SO much! Been almost a year since I saw him last. Then on the 30th is Mandi's shower. Should be a GREAT time.

Ok I know it's early for St. Patrick's Day but gonna be a busy week. Had a GREAT weekend! Saturday Pat and I went to Zanesville to Sam's to stock the freezer then to Bill's for ribs...YUMMO!
Yesterday I picked up Rachel and we went to Mt. Vernon to Pat Catan's. WHAT A STORE!!! I was good and didn't buy much. LOL. Was GREAT to spend time with Rach and catch up. :)

Today I have spent the day working with the online courses for TIF. Lots of info to digest but interesting and meaningful. Tomorrow meeting with Dr. Hire and Kathy Robbins to discuss things. Wed. and Thurs. they are to come install the new furnace. That should be fun with the dogs...just hope the weather is nice so they can be outside while the guys are working. Friday I go to Columbus again for a meeting. Hope to catch up with Linderlou after the meeting :).

Ok been awhile since I posted. Lots going on!!
Valentines Day brought a surprise....flowers from Mandi and Jeremy and a Reese ice cream cake from Pat. Yummo!

Miss Patty suggested me to Dr. Hire and I am now the lead for the Coshocton City Schools' Teacher Incentive Grant. It is a part time job which will involve working off and on as needed and attending meetings. Should be a great challenge. Nice to be involved again but not have the responsiblities of a building and all that goes with it.

Pat has been after me for years to get rid of my Pontiac Bonneville. I didn't realize how worried he was when I drove it out of town. It was 11 yrs. old and had over 100 thou. miles on it. Still running great but he worried. I told him when I retired that if I got another job I would get a new car. Wellll, he held me to that. I looked at the Chevy Cruze but when we looked at the Hondas I was sold. I drove an Accord and CR-V. There was no question the CR-V was the one. Got it last Friday. LOVE IT!!!

Spring weather seems to be trying to come through. Can't come too soon. Enjoy it!

A belated post of Happy Birthday to our son Jeremy~ Happy Birthday!!! I know we wished you HB yesterday on the phone but can never send too many wishes.

My adventure with Dell has come to an end....well sorta..... My laptop now has Windows 7 Yea! No more Vista!!! and have upgraded to Office 2010. It runs like a new machine now. GREAT!! The printer situation though not so good.

Pat called them when the supposed new printer arrived at the shop. It was refurbished! He threw a McKenzie fit when they said we had had it for over 30 days so you get refurbished. They are sending us a new one. So that is returning the original and the refurbished. Hoping the wireless card will work in this one! If not, I am going to send the wireless adaptor back and just use the USB.

Had lunch with Patty C. on Friday. Much to my surprise she had a job offer lead for me. Met with the Supt. at 2 and there is a possiblility I will be contracted to do some work. More later if it comes through.

Off to play on my newly updated computer :)

Ok so today was a total I don't know what!!!I don't know whether to love Dell or hate them. Ok so Santa Pat bought me a wonderful color laser printer for Christmas. I finally got around to setting it all up this past week. Got it all installed ok using the USB port. Pat also bought me a wireless adapter...that's when the trouble started!!! I tried to install it myself but it didn't work. Soooo after Pat asking me if I called Dell for help several days in a row, I called. It was about 1PM when my soaps started. It is now 9PM. Five count them five techs later it is somewhat resolved. The first tech wanted to sell me an extended warrenty not getting that all I wanted was to fix the wireless adapter. The second tech helped a lot. He was on most of the day cleanning up crap off the computer. Lots of temp files and stuff I didn't need. He also got me to update to office 2010 and Windows 7....goodbye Vista. These are two things I was planning to do anyways to got them done. Well he reinstalled the printer and said the computer and printer were good to go. Still the wireless didn't work...so on to tech #3. He was the printer dept. and said it was the wireless dept. I wanted of course this was after I went through the whole story of the day. Got the wireless dept. and went through the story AGAIN. They informed me they only worked on connecting to the internet and I wanted the printer dept. I thought I just talked to them but ok...send me back. Note: all these techs were from /in India...hard time understanding most of the day. This time I got a genuine American girl. She was SO understanding and was able to give me to the right person who in a short 15 min. figured out....are you ready for this one.....the wireless adapter was defective!!! All that to find out that the dang part was junk. So they are sending me a new one tomorrow. We will try again. WHAT A DAY!!! Took a hot shower and ready for bed. Wish I had a Wallerbeedarn (drink a the Outback steakhouse) but settled for hot cider. Tomorrow is another day..............

So, I got the Save the Dates finished and mailed out. They turned out very nice. Mandi and Jeremy liked them...J even called me to thank me! He is so busy that I rarely hear from him. :(

Have the centerpieces to tackle next. I did one yesterday which turned out as expected. Will be very nice on the tables I think. Pat has to cut the styrofoam balls for me this weekend and then I can begin the assembly line to complete the other 23! Yep, 24 total.

Signs for family tables are completed. Final decision on favor boxes has been made. We are going with metallic red and silver chinese take out boxes. Have had trouble finding a red that was the correct color of red.

Mandi has updated their website and everything is moving along on time. She and Jeremy sent their guest list to Paula and when it is finalized, I can begin the favors and invitations. Such a fun time! I just wish Mandi and Jeremy were here to join in the fun or preparing. Miss them terribly!

A little snow is expected today and tomorrow but nothing significant...yea! I'm ready for spring. Just found out that my friend Rachel B. is pregnant. She is so great with kids and will be a WONDERFUL mommy. I am SOOOOO happy for her! Congratulations Rachel!!

Yep, and it's gonna get colder. We have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and the temp is going down to 14 tonight. Wind is supposed to start tonight as well. All school in the county have already called off for tomorrow and it is only 10 PM. County under a level 1.

This week has been interesting. Many people in town including my brother lost their gas so for many that ment no heat or hot water. He was a day without but then it was repaired. As of today most have had their service restored but what a mess!

Spent a few days trying to get the laser printer to work. No problem installing it to the laptop but still can't get the wireless to work....ggggrrrrr. Finished the Save the Dates and mailed them out today. I love the job the laser printer does!

Supposed to have a massage tomorrow at 11 but I doubt I will go in and I doubt Wendy will come to town either. :( Been three weeks and if I don't get to go tomorrow I will have to wait two more weeks.

Pat and I finished up the homemade stew I made yesterday. He really liked this batch and yes, I did write down how I made it so I can do it again...LOL Tasted good since it has been so cold out. More snow 1-2" expected this weekend and more again the first of the week...ugh!

Here are some pictures of my latest creations. I am cutting things with my Cricut machine out of vinyl which can be put on walls without damaging the surface. Such fun!

I have been organizing the wedding "stuff" and cleaning out the craft room in the process. I can't believe how much there is and most of it is ready to go. Thanks to Linda M. I have a lot of things that were no cost to us...yea! Save the Dates will be made as soon as the magnet sheets arrive and I get them printed. Oh, speaking of printing, Santa Pat did get me a new color laser printer for Christmas. Not fired it up yet but getting close. Have to wait to get a new cd drive for my laptop so I can load the software.

Update on the Sugar Bowl trip. Mandi and Jeremy did get to New Orleans. They also got free tickets to the game...Jeremy has connections...always knows someone who knows someone...lol. While on their trip they got to meet Peyton Hillis of the Cleveland Browns. They report that the trip was awesome!

Well it was a very quiet Christmas in the McKenzie house. Mandi and Paula came to visit on Wednesday and we had a lovely lunch. Discussed wedding plans and things that still needed bought and decided on.

Pat caught a terrible cold which turned into bronchitis. It started on Tues. and by Thurs. he was home from work which NEVER happens. He finally gave in on Christmas eve and went to he ER to get some meds. I got up with a sore throat so guess who is next??? They delivered his new lazy boy yesterday so he was able to sit up and sleep which helped. By the way he liked the chair even though he did admit he thought for sure that is what he was getting. I got my laser printer and can't wait to get it set up and started. Pat got me the wireless option so that will be super nice! Those were the two big gifts we got this year for each other so along with some smaller items it was a great Christmas.

Missing Jeremy this year ...AGAIN! He is not able to come home for the holidays since it is a busy time of year for golfers. Just doesn't seem like Christmas without your children home no matter how old they are.

Postponed Christmas dinner with brother and sister til next weekend when maybe we will both be feeling better. Not gonna waste that prime rib when we are too sick to enjoy it.LOL

The weathermans says we are having Jan. weather in early Dec. NO KIDDING! Supposed to be a winter storm coming this weekend to part of Ohio..just waiting to see which part. Then next week Mon. and Tues. has highs of 10!!!

Jeremy lucked out again. He and mandi wanted to attend the OSU bowl game but the days were black out days for Air Tran using their free tix.He wrote to Air Tran to complain about not being able to use their comp tickets to go to N. Orleans. He is SO lucky...Air Tran scheduled them on the flight so they can go using their free tickets..yipee for them! Now to get hotel and tix to the game. Even if they don't actually go to the game, they will have a nice mini vacation and be around the hoopla of the game.

Have made chocolate covered pretzels and oreos. Also made peanut butter cake balls. Have a few other Christmas goodies to make yet. JRT cards and gift are mailed. Have personal cards to get out yet and box for J and Mandi. Hope to get that done tomorrow. Gifts are all wrapped and under the tree. (and so far.....Emma has left them alone..lol)

Well I went shopping yesterday. It was probably one of the last nice days of the year so I took advantage of the good weather and I'm glad I did. I found my dress for the wedding!! It does need to be altered and I will have that done in the spring closer to the time. The dress shop ladies were wonderful. I had an appointment so I was the only one in the shop with two ladies to help try dresses on me. After two hours and endless dresses we were down to two. This was the winner. I hope it will do. Mandi says she likes it...and Pat says he likes it so....we shall see. What do ya think??? It's a little lace and sparkle and I think it is "me".Not too fussy.

Had a wonderful dinner with Pat, John and Joanie. Sure missed Mandi and Jeremy though. They had their own dinner in Fla. with the orphans from the pro shop (those who didn't go home for Thanksgiving). Rained all day off and on so the dogs got to stay inside while we celebrated but they behaved so that's a good thing.

Going to see about a dress for the wedding on Monday with Linda C. Figured I better start looking. Have no idea what is out there in the stores as I have only looked on line so far.

All Christmas gifts are bought. Have to send a package out to Fla. and I am done. Oh, have to pick up something for the dogs but that's easy. LOL. Just putting up a few decorations inside..nothing over the top since no one will be coming out except John, Joanie and Mike.

Hope to have some new pictures soon.

This is a picture of Mandi & Jeremy's friends Holly & Jerry (we met them the night J proposed to Mandi). They were married last May and Mandi was in the wedding. Holly will be in Mandi and Jeremy's wedding next July. Minor snafoo inbetween though...Holly & Jerry are expecting a little one by next May/June. Happy news for them! Will make fitting a dress for Holly interesting but I am sure she is not the first woman to buy a dress while pregnant to be worn after the baby arrives.

The weather in Ohio is just beautiful at this time of year. Pat's is so happy it is finally fannel shirt weather. The county fair has come and gone and we again didn't attend. Nothing new to see so why spend the money and time.

Have had a few new ideas for wedding decor. Won't be long and I will begin the process of making all the things Mandi and Jeremy have picted out. Still no idea of a dress for myself but there is still time.

Dogs are loving the cooler weather. Emma is becoming a proficient digger and Pat has had to get fill dirt, grass seed and straw to try to repair her land mine holes. She also has chewed a hole in a tshirt and jacket I had a the end of the bed...shades of Bailey who loved to chew blankets when she was young. Brody is still the perfect big brother but does set her straight from time to time.

Made homemade chicken and noodles for dinner tonight. Grandpa Bill has been told to eat chicken (which he hates and usually refuses to eat)so I will send some in to him and Mert. Hope he enjoys it.

Football season is here! Buckeyes played their frist game and won. Browns not doing so well.
Been a month since I posted last. Not much new to report. School has started for everyone. Pat is back to working 5 days a week so the dogs and I keep eachother company all day. Weather is cooling off finally and we are enjoying being outside on the deck.
Jeremy and Mandi are doing fine. Mandi back to school working hard but is teaching Lang. arts this year which she likes much better than the reading she did last year. Jeremy is also working hard.
Pat's brother is moving from Columbus back to Dresden to work at AEP in Conesville. We visited his new condo last weekend. He is busy redecorating and it will be nice when he is finished. Moving in at the end of the month.

Dogs have been lazy lately with all the heat. Emma still does not come in when she is called. She will sit at the door but when you open it she runs back out into the yard. Brody on the other hand is no dummy...he comes in to get cool in the AC. LOL

Mandi and Jeremy fly home to Florida today. It was wonderful to have them both home for awhile. They both got to visit with friends and family and spend time with us. We didn't get to have our "family" dinner with both families together because it just didn't work out time wise but we all got to see eachother and that is what counts.
Jeremy finally saw the wedding venue and liked it. Good thing since it is set. LOL. We have so much decided now just waiting til a little closer to the wedding itself to complete the projects. I can finally put my living room back in order and store all the wedding stuff in Jeremy's old room.
Very hot this week and the dogs have been enjoying their little pool. Looks like more of the same the rest of the week.
Having lunch with Linda C. tomorrow.....she has been in Miss. since June and just got back. She started her new job at CHS so I am anxious to here about the Miss. clan and the new job.

One year from today is Mandi and Jeremy's wedding. We have SO much already decided so we are all hoping that the work will be finished by then and we all can relax and enjoy the day. Have the invitation, program, save the dates, favors, flowers, menus all decided. Will be beautiful!!!My biggest problem now will be to decide on a dress to wear....YIKES! LOL
Mandi has been at Jambo all week so we have had Jeremy to ourselves. It has been wonderful having him home for a few days.

Well half of the couple is home in Ohio. Mandi came in this morning. Jeremy will come in next Tuesday...did I say I CAN'T WAIT!!! Haven't seen him since Thanksgiving.

Our storm door had a slight accident the other day. Pat decided he must have hit it with a stone when weed whacking. Anyways it shattered. So he took it to be replaced. In the meantime, he sanded the main door and painted it. Years ago we took off the white decor on it and had never refinished it. If you look REALLY close you can still see the indents of it but I think it is much nicer without the dated details. Pat did a wonderful job and it looks GREAT.

The weather has been brutal....in the 90's. Pat and I were on the deck last night and the dogs were in the yard running and chasing. He filled up their pool so they could cool off. We were talking about one of our previous jacks, Bailey who loved the water. Pat said he wouldn't be surprised if Emma didn't just lay down in the pool (which Bailey never did) and before we knew it Emma was laying down in the middle relaxing. She is a character! I guess since she has so much hair she likes the water. Of course brother Brody had to get in as well and for awhile thought she should not be in "his" pool. Dad quickly set him straight on that one...lol. Both of them had fun and slept like logs all night. Just like kids!

Gonna be a fun time with Mandi and Jeremy home. Can't wait.

Afterwards we all took a look at a new property that Bill is looking at. Farm maybe sold so have to get something else...lol. He is very happy with his new building and truck.."the orange blossom special". Big boys and their toys...lol.

Not a very nice weekend here in Ohio. Rain rain and more rain with a little thunder and lightening thrown in for good measure! Pat and I went to Newark on Saturday and we purchased a new shrub for the side of the house. The evergreen that was there was split badly so Pat had to remove it. Had a nice lunch at Miller's Restaurant and then home.
Congratulations to Miss Mandi. She passed her math test.Now only one more at the end of the month and she will be good to go. Yipee!!!
Took Brody to the vet on Saturday morning. He is fit as a fiddle. We have 24 pounds of jumpin jack....OH MY he is a big boy! Emma was not happy to be left at home with Pat but she was sure glad to see her brother when he got home.

On Tuesday, May 11, 2010 Dave and Erica Boose had their second child, Elizabeth Renee. She was 8 lbs.2 oz and 20 inches long. She is a real cutie pie! I see alot of Erica in her first pictures. Congratulations Dave, Erica and little brother Porter.

Last Saturday I spent the day with Linda M. at her step daughter, Tanner's bridal shower. It was fun to just sit and relax. Had many laughs. I am still working on things for Tanner's wedding. Linda has certainly kept me busy which is a good thing :).

Had another nice breakfast with Linda M. yesterday. She loved the centerpieces and gave me the card box, 7 church arrangements and 2 huge wreaths for the church. Will be busy. I also finished up the first of Wendy B's order. They were just stickers for her petal cones but they are finished and look nice.
Dogs have been in and out. Since it has rained, we have to wash paws when they come in. Brody tolerates it but Emma....no way jose. She throws a royal fit! So what else is new...what a hellion she is.

Spring game was yesterday so Mandi and Jeremy were happy to watch OSU football again. Jeremy wants one of the pink jersey's they are auctioning off for Speilman fund. Ha Ha they are a little expensive as I was sure they would be for such a good cause.

Somehow I managed to chip my front tooth yesterday...go figure. I hope Dr. John is in on Mon. and can fit me in to fix it!!

Hoping the weather gets the rain out of its system and the sunshine returns for this week.

Our fence is up! YIPEE~the dogs ran and ran and ran tonight.Happy happy dogs!! They (and we) should sleep well tonight. Just let them out for a final call and it was so great to just open the door and they went out on their own...no more leashes and walking in the dark.
I finished my 4th yoga class tonight. Patty recommended I try it and I am so glad I took her advise. My knees are 100%++ better. Lynn, the teacher, says she is not going to do weekly classes during the summer but may do some monthly meetings. Guess I will have to keep up by doing on line classes...not as much fun. The group is all middle aged and we all have the same aches and pains. :) Lots of laughs as we work.
Beautiful weather lately....little cold in the AM but nice by noon. Hope to have the dogs out most of the day tomorrow. I need to clean the carpets....:(.

Here are pictures of what I've been doing for the past week or so. Linda Martin's stepdaughter is getting married in June. These are the favor boxes I made for her....300 of them! And then I had to "purple up" the little candle holders for her with some flowers. I only have 30 of them to do. I love having something to do besides housework that is...lol. She seems very happy with my work so that is good.
This week I see Wendy Bowen for my massage and I am going to get an order for things for her daughter's wedding in May. So when you ask if I am keeping busy...YES!

Emma continues to grown and learn new tricks. Like dragging the toilet paper roll down the hallway, chewing up anything she can get her paws on and pestering Brody to death. They have had a wonderful time on the deck all weekend and have slept all night...yeah!

Pat has the doggie door and steps finished so now we are waiting on the fence to be installed. Can't wait!

Had a very quiet Easter. Dinner with Mert and Bill and then spent the day doing nothing with the dogs at home. They love being on the deck...just wait til they get the new fenced in yard. Talked to Jeremy and he is very excited about going to Savannah on Tuesday and then to the Masters on Thurs. or Fri. He will be visiting several friends that he hasn't seen in some time. Both are in the wedding. Mandi is not joining him on this vacation. She decided to spend her spring break relaxing and helping Holly with her wedding "stuff".
Emma went to the vet on Sat. She is up to a whopping 6.5 pounds. A real dynamo! Housebreaking is coming but VERY slowly...sigh. It took Brody some time to get it so I guess we can deal with the same from her. The doggie door to the new fenced in yard will help with this too. :)
Pat has been doing some yard work to prep for the fence. He has to get some supplies to make the steps and will get those finished soon. I have completed all 300 of Linda Martin's wedding favors. I hope her step daughter will like them. I am having breakfast with Linda on Sat. so will deliver them then and then help her decide on the centerpieces.
Only a few weeks left for you school folks. Enjoy the warm weather..the kids can be outside to blow off some steam! YEA!

Today it has been 9 years since I lost my mom. I miss her everyday. SO many times I want to pick up the phone to share news with her.

Emma continues to grow and drive us nuts with the house training...lol. She is 14 weeks old so she has time. Good days and bad but we will get there. Brody and her are still best buds.

Doing laundry and making cookies today. Got some new towels and just ordered new bath mats. Times to update the bathroom a bit. After a few years towels just look dingy and need replaced.

Pat ordered the fence last Monday and it will be ready in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see the dogs run free in the fenced in area. Should make our life easier as well.

Had a visit from Rachel yesterday. She stopped on the way home to meet Brody and Little Emma. We had a fun visit sitting on the deck since it was a beautiful day. I miss all the girls from school so much. Maybe we will have another Washington dinner soon.
Emma is growing. She can climb stairs up and down and goes up and down off the bed. She can't quit get up on the furniture yet but I am sure it won't take long. She is very smart and VERY determined. She is decidely Pat's little girl. She loves him and runs to him when he comes home. She even went to bed with him last nite and she never leaves Brody who was down on the couch with me. They prety much play nonstop all day.

Well Brody is an excellent teacher and Emma is an excellent student. He has managed to teach her to go up and down the stairs in one week! AAAAAHHHHHH...now the fun will begin. She is pretty fast at going up but not so much coming down. She still sits and cries when he goes down and she is left upstairs. She eventually gets daring and comes down slowly. I am giving her another week and she will be flying up and down. She is sure a bull head. LOL and does she have a little temper! Oh my!! She seems to be going to Pat more than me which is good since Brody is clearly my dog. Wasn't it nice to see the sunshine today? :)

Had a great time in Dover yesterday with Mandi's mom at the country club bridal fair. Saw more of the place and what they had to offer. Some good and some not so good. We have all decided we can make the centerpieces much nicer and for less money. Now for Mandi to decide what she would like and get them made. She send me a website for the cake they picked out and it is lovely. Took a short video of the dogs. Enjoy! Emma is a dollbaby. So tiny compared to what Brody was when we brought him home. They love to play and he is her constant protector. Pat and I are adjusting to the lack of sleep and more frequent trips outdoors....LOL.

No more snow for a few days.....everyone back to school tomorrow. Saturday Linda and I are to go to Z'ville to get our hair done. It had better not snow or I will scream! Watching the olympics each night. Half pike snowboarding tonight was amazing. Those guys are crazy stupid to do what they do.

Just found out from the breeder that she is going to keep one of the three girls so we have to wait to see which one she decides to keep and then make our choice. They are all so stinkin cute! How does one decide????

Calling for up to 3 more inches of snow Monday thru Tuesday. Ugh! Few showers here today but nothing much. I am SOOO ready for spring! 27 for the high today.
Watched the opening cermony for Olympics last night. It was very good but I think the last one was more spectacular. Too bad the grand finale of the torch lighting had a technical glitch. Plan to watch events over the next few weeks. Nothing else to do with the weather such as it is.

Well all the schools in the area are closed today. Snow has been falling steadily for hours now. It is light fluffy snow not the heavy wet stuff we got last weekend.
Supposed to snow through tomorrow and tomorrow it will be windy so drifting will happen. Pat will be plowing tonight.

So much for Buckeye Chuck! There was a dusting of snow this morning and the weather man says more is on the way for the weekend.....like 4 inches! UGH! I am so glad Pat got the new stove put together and running last weekend. House is nice and toasty.
Been cleaning out the craft room. I need to get organized!!!
Tomorrow is Jeremy's birthday. Wish I could be there to celebrate with him but he has Miss Mandi so I am sure he is in good hands.:)

UPDATE: Just read the Tribune and they are calling for 10 inches of snow possible for the weekend.....I hope they are wrong!!!

Well I am going with Buckeye Chuck....he didn't see his shadow this morning and that means an early spring. Now those in PA. their Phil did see his shadow soooooo...... Guess Ohio will win this one. LOL
Pat got the new stove running and it is GREAT! No more filling or cleaning for him. The heat it gives is unbelievable. Very toasty and it looks wonderful. Very realistic fire burning. Love it!

It's a whooping 18 outside with a wind chill. Pat has gone to town to check the condo and then will begin the work on the roof for the new gas stove. Wish he would have done this when it was warmer but ..... It is surprising how much heat we got from the pellet stove....hopefully the gas stove will give as much if not more heat. Then we can begin to use the family room again! Just too cold down there now. Hopefully all will go well with the final installing and we will fire it up later today.
Nothing new on the wedding front. Had breakfast with Linda Martin last weekend and discussed her step daughter's upcoming wedding. I am so glad Mandi and Jeremy have so much time to think about and decide what they want for their special day.
Diane posted three new videos on the new puppies on her site. They are all just darling. Such fun watching them grow.

It is MLK day and the weather wasn't half bad. Usually it is a terrible day with snow and cold.
I am teaching myself to use Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop. So far the Photoshop is easier. I am getting pretty good with it even after one day of playing. I have learned that the only way to learn a new program is to play with it. I watched some videos on Utube and that has helped. Amazing what you can do with graphics and pictures.
I am also teaching myself to make monograms for the wedding using publisher. Have made a pattern for a banner and probably an aisle runner if Mandi decides she wants one. Found some cute ideas for the table cameras. Have them saved as well. This summer should be fun deciding with her what she wants to use. Can't wait!!
Was very surprised on facebook today when I found a long lost friend. She did my nails for year and is living in Pa. She happened to reply to another facebook friend of mine and I saw the posting. Nice to connect with old friends.
Only a few more weeks and we will have a new little pup in the house. I hope Brody gets along well with her. I am sure they will do fine together. He is such a loving dog, I think he will protect her. Can't wait for the call from Diane to say she is ready to come home with us. Probably first of March or so.

Spent the day with Paula, Mandi's mom at the bridal show in Akron. It was very interesting to see all the "stuff" available. So much to see. Had a great time and got many ideas to share with Mandi and Jeremy.
All the puppies have been born. Today Brody's mom had her litter.....Four pups...ALL BOYS!!! We. as well as the breeder, were hoping for some girls out of her but not to be. Here is Slider, Brody's mom and her pups.

Here are the girls from the other two litters....hopefully one of these pups will be ours in a couple of months.So exciting!

Yep, it IS COLD! Actually it wasn't as cold last night as I expected it to be but still cold. Made out trip to Mt. Vernon....I waved hi to you when we went by Apple Valley Rachel!!! got the pipe and then back home. On the way we stopped for breakfast at Peggy Sues and brought home pie...of course....chocolate peanut butter! YUMMO!

All the local schools are out today due to the 6 inches of snow on the ground and the 10 degree temps. With windchill it is much below zero....burrrrr! I even got out Brody's coat to put on him when he goes out. He loves to bark at the shovel when I am shoveling the deck.
The guys were here the past two days to put in and turn on the gas line. After many months of waiting they did get the line out our road. We now have a gas water heater. We have the gas stove to heat the family room and we pick up the pipes etc. tomorrow in Mt. Vernon. Pat can't install it though until it is safe for him to get on the roof. Maybe awhile....sigh! Then eventually we will have a gas furnace put in which should lower the electric bill considerably and the gas should be somewhat cheaper and more efficient. Seems like there is always something that is needed when you own a home.
Sunday I am going to Akron with Mandi's mom Paula to attend a bridal show. Should be fun. Hope to get some more new ideas. Mandi is attending a similar show in Florida with her friend Holly. Between the two shows we are bound to find some good things.
Off to make some veggie soup. Should be great on a cold day like today and the weekend.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!!
The end of 2009 was a great intro to the new year. Jeremy and Mandi got engaged. I am sure the new year will bring wonderful things for everyone.
The second litter of puppies has arrived. This time there are 2 boys and 2 girls. Pics again on shingleoak.com. Brody's mom is the last to deliver and I am not sure when she is due. A couple of weeks yet I think. Anyways it will be fun to watch these little guys grown through the pictures.
Very cold out today and it is supposed to stay cold for a week or so. Well it is winter in Ohio..... With wind chills it is below zero. Brody and I do NOT like this cold!!!
Way to go Bucks! The win over the ducks was a great game. See how my son dressed for the game....what can I say....he's a fan and yes, that is his snuggie.

Mandi, Paula and I visited the Union Country Club in Dover the last night Mandi was in town....Tuesday. It was very nice. Unfortunately the girl who could anwser all our questions was not able to attend our meeting. We did get a few questions answered and got to see the facility. It is bigger than Lakeside and we all agreed it had its pluses. Yesterday, Paula called to report that when comparing the two places, the club was quite a bit cheaper with more to offer. Soooo....it is now up to Mandi and Jeremy to decide. The girl said that the ceremony could take place on their patio or they could use the gazebo in the garden at Warther's. I called Linderlou to ask about it since she was a Warther. Nice to have friends in the right places...lol. The only problem with the club is that the date they had chosen 7/9/11 is the day of the clubs biggest golf outing...wouldn't you know it! So if they choose to go with the club, it will have to be the weekend before or after this date. We pretty much decided that this summer is not a good idea since Jeremy may be getting a head pro position somewhere which would require them to move. I also think Mandi will feel that she has more time to plan details if she has this summer to do that.
Pat and I will spend a quiet New Year's Eve. Oh, the first of the three litters of puppies have been born. Shingleoak.com is the web site if you care to check them out. Of the 5 pups born, 4 were boys and only 1 girl.We will be getting a girl this time. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of the other litters. One of the dogs due yet is Brody's mom and I would love to have another one of her pups since I love his disposition and personality.

Well Christmas was wonderful except that Jeremy wasn't here! GRRRRRRR I got lovely presents from my hubby. Love you Patrick!
Today I went to Unusual Junction again to meet Mandi and her mom to see dresses. She tried on the three top vote getters from the other day. The first one was the one she and I really liked best. Her mom cried when she was her in it. Just beautiful! The other two she likes as well but agreed that the first one was "the" one. Funny since in the pictures I took that was the one she thought she would like the least but in person it was definitely the one. So the dress is checked off the to do list. We are all in agreement that the Lakeside venue is probably going to be the place. We all loved it. Going Tuesday to see Union Country Club in Dover. Mandi was able to match the color swatches for the bridesmaids dresses with the red trim in her dress and it was perfect. So she is going to let the girls see her choice of designs and make their choices. We had lunch at the winery and chatted about invites etc. It is so wonderful to have Mandi and her mom be just like us...easy going common folks. I just love Mandi and her family. It is going to be a GREAT marriage. Made some decisions on the save the date cards and invitations. I need to make some mock ups for her to see. She and Jeremy are going to have an engagement picture taken so we will use that as needed. Things are rolling right along. We talked about maybe having the wedding this summer instead of next. Paula was going to check on available dates at Lakeside.

Had a wonderful day yesterday with Mandi as she tried on wedding gowns. She is such a beautiful girl anyways all the dresses looked terrific but she finally settled on one that just could be THE one. Just beautiful. We may go back on Saturday to try it on again for her mom. (she had to work so I was pinch hitting)
Roast is in the oven and beans are cooking. Have to make the potatoes, pudding and gravy before brother and sister arrive for Christmas Eve dinner. They both have to work tomorrow so we are having annual dinner tonight.

Spent last night with Mandi, her mom and cousins looking at Lakeside Conference Center.It is just beautiful and definitly a strong possibility for the wedding. Pretty much decided it will be July 2011 to give Mandi time to plan next summer. Seems like a long way off but I am sure it will be here before we know it. Checking another venue next week.

Happy Birthday to my sister Joanie!

Jeremy was surprised at the Colonial Country Club Christmas party when he was awarded the 2009 golf operations employee of the year award. We are so proud of you!!
He was so sick that night he wasn't going to go to the dinner. By the picture, I think he was happy he went if only for a little while. Thanks Brian and others for selecting Jeremy for this honor. By the way, note the Ohio State tie! LOL

We had a little snow last night. Nothing like what the east coast is getting. Mandi is flying home for Christmas today but I think her airports are open. Brody is not sure he likes the cold and snow this year as he is hesitant to go out and do his business. No puppies born yet but it is coming soon. Have to spend the day making buckeyes and carmel corn. Pat is going into work for awhile and then he can help. All my shopping, wrapping and mailing is complete so bring it on!

This is not one of our dogs but I thought it was a cute pic.

Very quite weekend here. Pat watched football and I watched movies or crafted. Made a turkey dinner yesterday. Made the turkey by soaking in a brine like my brother did for Thanksgiving and I swear it makes the best turkey ever! I also made noodles but they werent' as good as Mandi's homemade ones.
Finished up most of the Christmas crafts and presents. Have one ready to mail and one yet to purchase to send to Mert and Bill.
Only 2 more days and Pat turns the big 50! I love him more every day.

UPDATE: Got a text from Linda C. about quarter of 8 this morning. They were on their way to the hospital to have a baby. Kelly had trouble as the baby would not turn so they did surgery a little before 2. Well it is now almost 5 and Linda just sent me pics of the new little boy. Paxton Bradly Bratton, 6 lbs. 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. Both mom and little guy are doing great! I guess Grandma is too...lol. They let the family know Kelly and baby were fine after C section but won't tell them the sex until Kel was out of recovery. Talk about suspense!
So between texts from Linda I did some crafting this afternoon. Tomorrow going to dr. in Z'ville for results of tests. Maybe get final shopping done while I am there. Not much more to pick up.:)

With only a few weeks left until Christmas things are moving right along. Most of the shopping is finished. Have baking to do. Pat wants to make buckeyes and I have a couple of cookie recipes to make. Of course there is the annual carmel corn which everyone wants. At least this year I have my silicone gloves so I won't burn my hands.
No baby yet for Kelly Clark. Linda and I are having lunch today (Mon) and Kel is supposed to join us. Wonder if she will make it. I told Linda it is for sure a girl...we are always late. Baby was due Saturday.
Pat was pretty sick this weekend. We both slept alot so I suspect we both were coming down with something. Seem to be better today. Let's hope so!

On our last night in Florida, we went to dinner with Jeremy and Mandi and two of their close friends. Right before dinner, Jeremy popped the question and presented the ring. Mandi was so surprised and she said yes.

Well we are enjoying our time in Florida with Jeremy and Mandi. Got in on Monday and had pizza in for dinner as we were all tired. Excellent pizza...in fact Pat and I ate leftovers for lunch on Tuesday. Tuesday both kids had to work so Pat and I just hung out at home with the nuttyman. Went to the Ale House for dinner last night. Very good.
Today we woke up to rain. It has rained all day. Jeremy had to go into work for awhile but he was home about noon to pick up Pat and take him to the club to look around. Mandi and I went to see New Moon and then grocery shopping for dinner tomorrow. Jeremy has to work until one tomorrow so we will have a min afternoon Thanksgiving dinner and then football.

We are packing today for our trip to Florida to spend Thanksgiving with Jeremy and Mandi. Tomorrow we will have Thanksgiving with my brother and sister and leave Brody to stay with them for the week. He should have fun with Zoe my brother's doberman. They love to run and play in the fenced in yard. We will miss him but will also have fun in the sun with the kids.

Yep, we are getting a new puppy. Pat contacted the breeder we got Brody from and she is expecting 3 litters at Christmas time. We are first on the list for a little girl. I couldn't resist taking a picture for our Thanksgiving card. He actually sat there very well while I took the picture. The look on his face says it all....not too enthused are we?? Kinda looks like a mug shot to me. LOL He is such a good boy and I am hoping that his sister will be just as good and loving.

Went to a stampin up card party last night hosted by Judie Snoots. We made three different Christmas cards and an ornament. It was fun. Out at Perry Chapel Church...not Prairie Chapel but Perry Chapel. It was out past Union School. Out in the boonies for sure. I thought surely I must be in Newark by now...LOL. Met some nice ladies and had fun.

Off to get hair done tonight and time with Linda C. We have done this for years and never get tired of eachother's company. I miss her terribly after seeing her everyday for so many years. It's nice to have a girls night out once in a while.

One week and we will be in Florida for our visit with Jeremy and Mandi for Thanksgiving. CAN'T WAIT to see them!! Miss you guys and love you more.

Congratulations are in order to my brother John. It has been one year since he had his heart attack. He is feeling fine and has recovered completely. God is good!

Spent this afternoon at a baby shower for Kelly Clark Bratton. Her mom Linda hosted a wonderful time....it was at Roberta's. She got many nice gifts and everyone had fun.

Brody had me up again last night several times. Again he just stood in the kitchen looking at me. I thought again that he wanted to go out but he didn't. I finally gave up after the third time and just told him to go to bed! Sure enough this morning when Pat checked the mouse traps we had caught another one!! Brody the Mouser! LOL. Again, I guess I should be thankful he doesn't bark incessantly or tear things up trying to get at the mouse. We haven't had mice in several years. I think the outside neighborhood cats are getting lazy....plus there aren't as many of them as there used to be. No fear..Brody is on it :)
Have a few craft things to complete and then take all into South Lawn for the teachers to see. Also see there are seasonal flu shots tomorrow at the health dept. so may try to get in and get one.

Mouse Update:
Yep, there was a mouse in the house (and one in the garage). Brody had me up three times during the night. I went to the door each time to take him out thinking that is what he wanted. NO, he just stood in the middle of the kitchen looking at me. Do ya think he knew there was a critter about??? I'm sure he did. Luckily he didn't see it and give chase or start to dig it out of it's hiding place. LOL.
Setting traps again for a few days just in case.
